The new H.E.A.R. logo looks similar to the emergency medical services star of life. The green colored red bordered six-pointed star representing emergency medical and rescue, is surrounded by the organizations name. The yellow background is easy to see and provides good contrast for the green lettering and star. This helps make it easy to identify and differentiate animal rescue personnel on the scene of an emergency. The color green was chosen because it is often associated with medical services. The contrasting red border, a color long used by fire departments signifies rescue.
The star is emblazoned with a yellow Rod of Asclepius from Greek mythology signifying healing and a red capitol “V” representing veterinary medical care. Each branch of the star represents the main purpose of Humane Emergency Animal Rescue.
